Then we launch into a conversation about their business and their goals. At last, we come around to which channels should be a priority for them. Every business is different and so, the answer will be different for every business.
To guide my clients along the path to understand which are the priority channels, or channel, for their business, I start by asking five vital questions for social media strategy success.
These five questions provide my team and the client with the foundation to understand how to get the most out of their investment in social media, whether that investment is time or money. It is the foundation of how to create an effective strategy that will reach the brand’s target audience where they spend their time while building the brand’s expertise online. Then, drive the customers to an ideal conversion.
- What are the company’s top three business goals?
- Who are the company’s customers, really?
- Where does the target audience(s) spend time online?
- What is the company’s personality?
- How much money and/or time does the company have to put into social media?
Once we have addressed the five questions, we are able to hone in on the priority platforms. The results can vary from 4-5 platforms to just 1 target platform, it all depends on the business.
